Viral Post Exposes Rabbit Neglect at Mobile Petting Zoo in Termeloh

Animal welfare concerns have reignited after a viral post exposed severe neglect at a mobile petting zoo in Temerloh, Pahang. 

Photos shared by @maemaiakdl showed rabbits confined in a flimsy sidewalk enclosure, with visitors charged RM4 for entry and RM1 for feed, but no proper care or shelter provided.

Rescue Efforts Save Surviving Rabbits From Neglect

Local shopkeepers confirmed this was not an isolated incident, alleging the vendor routinely left animals outdoors for hours, rain or shine, only collecting them late at night. 

Worse still, the operation reportedly lacked a valid business permit. Despite warnings, the vendor allegedly boasted of municipal council connections.

Tragically, several rabbits died from neglect. The user and her sister buried the animals respectfully rather than leaving them discarded. Survivors were rescued by concerned members of the public. A formal complaint was lodged with the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS), with hopes of legal action.

The case has sparked calls for conscious consumerism, urging Malaysians to avoid unethical animal attractions. 

“We must be proactive in protecting animals and support responsible businesses,” the user said, stressing the public’s role in reporting cruelty and demanding accountability.
