Netflix Raises Subscription Fees in Malaysia

Netflix has announced another round of subscription price hikes in Malaysia, with monthly fees rising between RM1 and RM7 across all plans. 

According to its official site, the Premium plan saw the steepest increase, jumping RM7 to RM69.90 per month.

The Mobile plan now costs RM19.90, up RM1 from RM18.90. The Basic plan rose RM4 to RM33.90, while the Standard plan climbed RM6 to RM55.90. 

Netflix Malaysia Says Price Hike Supports More Content

Netflix also revised charges for additional members outside the household: Standard accounts can add one extra member for RM14.90 (previously RM13), while Premium accounts can add up to two members at the same rate per slot.

The company explained that the adjustments are necessary to sustain service improvements and deliver more new TV series and films weekly. 

While Netflix continues to expand its content library, the rising costs may pressure Malaysian households already juggling multiple streaming subscriptions.

This latest increase underscores the growing debate over affordability in the streaming market, as consumers weigh whether enhanced content offerings justify higher monthly bills.
