Driver in Viral Crash Tests Positive for Four Drugs

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 16, 2026, A driver who rammed into three vehicles at a traffic light junction in Jalan Kampung Bandar Dalam has tested positive for four types of drugs.

City Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the incident occurred at 3.50pm on Sept 14. Viral footage on Threads prompted police to track down all vehicles involved. Preliminary investigations revealed that a 30-year-old Honda Civic driver lost control before crashing into a Proton Saga, a Nissan Almera, and another Honda Civic. No injuries were reported.

The driver later lodged a police report at 10.39pm. While a breathalyser test was negative, urine screening found him positive for benzo, methamphetamine, ketamine, and amphetamine.

The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Police urged witnesses to contact the Tun H S Lee Traffic Police Station at 03-2071 9999.
