Scammers often present deals that seem irresistible. @bro_wong shared on TikTok about a woman who lost RM12,000 in a car scam. The scammer impersonated one of his employees, Muhammad Zhariff, and convinced her to make an upfront payment to reserve a vehicle.
Woman Loses RM12,000 in Car Scam, Dealer Warns of Fake Employees
The woman contacted the scammer through a fake Facebook page mimicking Wong’s dealership. Wong, upon investigation, found no employee by that name and discovered the scammer had created fake websites and stolen content from his account.
He advised buyers to verify the legitimacy of dealerships and ensure payments are made to official accounts, not personal ones.
