A 61-year-old woman, Tuan Maimun Che Tuan, was sentenced to 24 months in jail and fined RM3,000 for stealing RM2,500 from a wedding host’s house in Kampung Tasek Berangan, Pasir Mas. The theft, which went viral online, occurred on February 1. Magistrate Mohd Fauzan Mohd Suhairi ruled that if she fails to pay the fine, she will face an additional six months in jail. She was charged under Section 380 of the Penal Code.
