KUALA SELANGOR — MCA will be given seats to contest in the 17th Sabah state election, confirmed Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. The Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman said the exact number of seats will be announced on nomination day.

He added that MIC will not contest due to the small and insignificant number of Indian voters in Sabah. Zahid said BN component Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) will also field candidates, with most nominees expected to be new and professional faces.
