RM1 Billion Allocated to Tackle Living Costs; STR Cap Now RM4,600

The MADANI Government has increased its 2025 financial aid allocation to RM13 billion, up from RM10 billion, to ease the rising cost of living and support nearly nine million Malaysians. Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying said household aid under STR and SARA will rise to a maximum of RM4,600.

Social Welfare assistance has also been boosted, including higher payouts for the elderly, children, and general aid recipients. RM1 billion is allocated to price control and cost-reduction programmes, including RAHMAH Sales and the My50 transport pass. Civil servant salaries and the minimum wage will also increase to strengthen incomes nationwide.
