Over 73% of Malaysians aged 18 to 40 are currently in debt, with financial constraints cited as the primary reason. However, one of the top three drivers is the pursuit of a more luxurious lifestyle, reflecting growing consumer pressures among younger generations. 

Alarmingly, university students are beginning to take loans at an early stage, not only to cover necessities but also to fund lifestyle choices. 

Spend Accordingly Don’t Take Unnecessary Loans

A Threads user asked her followers with regards to the rise of students taking loans. But, social media users claim that these students aren’t comfortable with living within their means, and thus are taking unnecessary loans to spend lavishly.
