Malaysia aims to install 10,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations nationwide by the end of 2025, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Transition Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof. Speaking in Bangkok, he said the move aligns with Malaysia’s ambition to become a regional hub for EV manufacturing and innovation.

The government is collaborating with Petronas and industry partners to enhance charging infrastructure, especially high-speed DC chargers, across cities, highways, and rural areas, including Sabah and Sarawak. Fadillah believes strong EV growth will attract more investors and elevate Malaysia’s position within the global supply chain under its National Investment Aspirations.
