Police in Malaysia are widening their investigation into an alleged plot to topple the government and acts of sabotage against national stability. Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said up to 14 more individuals will be called in to assist, in addition to the 14 witnesses already questioned.

Statements will be recorded before the investigation paper is submitted to the Attorney General’s Chambers. When asked about Na’imah Abdul Khalid, widow of former finance minister Tun Daim Zainuddin, Khalid declined to comment. Police are also tracking several key individuals believed to be overseas to aid the probe.
