Fuel prices in Peninsular Malaysia have spiked for the second consecutive week as the government aligns domestic rates with volatile global markets amid Middle East conflict.
RON97 Jumps Up in Price
Effective until March 25, RON97 petrol rises 70 sen to RM4.55 per litre, while diesel surges 80 sen to RM4.72, marking a record high. Over two weeks, diesel has climbed RM1.60 per litre.
The Ministry of Finance confirmed that the subsidised “BUDI95” rate remains at RM1.99 per litre to shield households, while unsubsidised RON95 stays at RM3.27. Diesel in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan is capped at RM2.15. Authorities pledge close monitoring to protect economic stability.
