The Umno Supreme Council meeting last night did not deliver any date for the next general elections says an Umno leader, Bung Moktar who adds that the party is still working with the PAS.

November is a possible date for polls as Parliament may be dissolved by the second week of October and polls will take place a month after that, a portal says, quoting a Barisan Nasional leader. Parliament may be dissolved as early as October 12. But elections will depend on how many states dissolve their assembly after the National Parliament is dissolved.

The BN government under Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, in 1999, tabled the Budget but then dissolved Parliament to hold elections before the budget was passed.
