Remember when you broke up with your ex, and you’d sometimes check up on their Instagram just to see how they are doing. However, that might be illegal soon as the new law is against repeated messages sent towards someone online.
Online stalking is now a crime
Netizens are joking that this will be the first law that they have ever broken. Stalking people through their Instagram profiles is quite a common place in today’s world. However, it is understandable why the government is doing so as sometimes a person’s instagram post might be harmful to themselves.
Others felt safe with the ruling and stated that they only “stalk” verified people. However, the rule is meant to be applied to those that pose a threat to the individual that they are stalking. It is not stated that if you were to view someone’s profile everyday it would be getting you in trouble.
