Rafizi Faces Backlash from The Opposition on GST

The government’s efforts to accelerate the pace of fiscal consolidation are warranted but it may have to introduce new taxes, including the return of the goods and services tax in 2025.

But given the history of the Pakatan Harapan and their anti-GST campaign which is still fresh in memory, the PN opposition and their supporters are whacking Minister of Economy Rafizi Ramli on his statement that the government is mulling the return of the demonised tax. There are many other taxes they can introduce or continue with the targets to cut leakages…right? Rebrand it to VAT?
