Wong Yan Ke, a former civil engineering graduate of Universiti Malaya (UM), has been fined RM5,000, with a default sentence of three months in jail, for his protest during the university’s convocation ceremony four years ago. Magistrate Illi Marisqa Khalizan delivered the sentence, citing the defense’s failure to raise reasonable doubt against the prosecution’s case.
