Most Malaysian youngsters would thrive to have the best in life, especially in their early 20s. It is not wrong for wanting better things, but overspending is a grave mistake. A viral TikTok video shows a car advisor’s chat with a 19-year-old eyeing a Proton X70 despite earning RM1,100 monthly.

Advised on budget, he showed no interest in cheaper options like Perodua Axia. Many youths chase fancy cars without considering expenses. The advisor warns against overlooking hidden costs like maintenance.
Commenters on TikTok state that during their 20s, they purchased used cars for very cheap. This is in lieu of saving money for their future. Having a large commitment on a car is detrimental for someone who is not even in their 20s yet.
