Another national football player, Safiq Rahim, became a victim of an attack last night when his car’s rear windscreen was smashed by unknown assailants in Johor Baru. The Johor Darul Ta’zim midfielder was driving his Honda City car near the club’s training centre in Jalan Seri Gelam when two men on a motorcycle approached him at about 10pm.

It is learnt that the motorcycle’s pillion rider took out a hammer and smashed the car’s rear windscreen. The impact jolted Shafiq and he stopped his vehicle. An initial report said the two assailants then stopped in front of Safiq’s car while brandising the hammer.
