Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A Bhd, has expressed frustration with Facebook for allowing a deceptive video about him to spread. A proponent of social media’s connective power, Fernandes criticizes the platform’s inadequate content control outside the U.S. to prevent misinformation. 

Tony Fernandes slams Facebook 

He urges companies to do more than just claim community building. Fernandes, who once closed his Facebook account due to irresponsible content, still sees rampant fake news in Asia, particularly Southeast Asia. His comments follow a 2019 incident where a gunman live-streamed an attack on New Zealand mosques on Facebook.
