Malaysian professional mixed doubles pair, Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai, celebrated a double joy by winning the 2024 Malaysia Masters title at Axiata Arena on Sunday. The husband-and-wife duo, ranked 18th in the world, secured their dream wedding gift by defeating Indonesia’s third-seeded pair Rinov Rivaldy and Pitha Haningtyas Mentari 21-18, 21-19 in 48 minutes.

Soon Huat-Shevon Wins

This victory ended a seven-year drought for Malaysian representatives in the Super 500 tournament, with the last win by Tan Kiang Meng and Lai Pei Jing in 2017. The tournament was not held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
