SINGAPORE: Singaporean Clariel Griffin, 49, was fined S$9,200 (RM32,000) for refusing to wear a mask and pulling down the mask of a social distancing ambassador (SDA) during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021.

Her husband, Clive Ainsley Griffin, a Briton, was fined S$1,200 (RM4,150) in September 2023 for also refusing to wear a mask and questioning the necessity of the mandate. The couple, dining at Dallas bar in Marina Bay Sands, ignored multiple warnings to finish their drinks by 10:30pm as required by regulations. Both faced charges under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) Act.
