Six injured after suspected gas explosion causes partial collapse of two shophouses in Singapore

Six people were injured after two shophouses at Syed Alwi Road in Singapore partially collapsed due to a suspected gas explosion. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded around 1:30 am, rescuing one person trapped on the second floor. Two individuals were hospitalized for minor injuries, while four others declined hospital treatment. Search dogs and drones were deployed to ensure no one was trapped. A restaurant and grocery store were affected, and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) is investigating the incident. No further gas readings were detected at the site.
