In a staggering debate on the salary of Malaysian MPs, an X user noted that 82% of the country is earning less than RM5,000 a month. However, we have MPs that are earning amounts that are significantly more than that. Additionally, 35% of the country is earning less than RM2,000.

Additionally, X users state that the 35% of the country are having the same living standards as Indonesia. Having a higher capita does not mean that everyone is equally earning as much as listed. But, there are others who defend the current system citing that the 82% are at fault.
