Aapico to Boost PROTON’s Production with RM140m New Investment

Continuing its journey to become Malaysia’s leading automotive brand, PROTON has partnered with AAPICO Hitech Public Company Limited, Thailand’s largest auto parts company, to produce components.

Through its subsidiary, Advance Vehicle Engineering Global Sdn Bhd (AVEE Global), the Thai company will acquire 60% of AVEE Global from PROTON, with PROTON retaining a 40% share.

The collaboration involves an initial investment of RM40 million into AVEE Global’s facility, with further expansion planned to meet the growing demand for PROTON vehicles. Yeap Swee Chuan, President & CEO of the Thailand-based company says the company will bring its expertise and technology to improve production and cost efficiency, while also developing human capital and creating more job opportunities.
