Tuaran Umno chief Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan has stepped down from his post with immediate effect. The former Kota Belud MP, however, will continue serving as a member of Umno’s supreme council.

In a statement on April 4, Abdul Rahman said his decision was conveyed to party president Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and was based on personal considerations, not internal disputes. He last contested the Kota Belud seat in GE15 but lost to Warisan’s Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis. In the recent Sabah election, he withdrew from contesting the Tempasuk state seat.
