Pro-Palestinian activist M Mythreyar from Tanjung Malim, Perak, announced a hunger strike in front of Parliament starting next Tuesday to protest the sale of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) shares to a company linked to Blackrock. Mythreyar, 46, plans to continue the strike until the government cancels the deal.

Deputy Finance Minister II Amir Hamzah Azizan stated that Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), set to become a minority shareholder in MAHB, was selected based on criteria including appointing Malaysian citizens as chairperson and managing director. GIP is being acquired by Blackrock, with the deal expected to complete in the third quarter.
