Airbnb Denies Refunds
However, Airbnb initially refused, saying the policy only applies to bookings in directly impacted areas, not destinations elsewhere. Wainer argued the wording implied full refunds, while Airbnb offered only partial reimbursement.
After Business Insider contacted the company, she received a full refund. Other travelers in Abu Dhabi and beyond reported similar struggles, prompting Wainer to urge persistence in defending consumer rights.
