Activist Charles Hector has strongly criticized Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anwar Ibrahim over 1MDB’s decision to drop its civil suit against Najib Razak’s stepson, Riza Aziz, and Red Granite. Hector also questioned whether Riza had truly returned the misappropriated funds and insisted that criminals should not escape justice simply by returning stolen assets. He urged a parliamentary investigation into 1MDB’s decision.
