Appeal Against Premier League Ruling Launched by Man City

MANCHESTER, Oct 3, 2026 – Manchester City has lodged a “comprehensive appeal” after an independent commission ruled the club guilty of breaking Premier League financial rules.

The Premier League announced earlier this week that City faced more than 100 charges, marking one of the most significant disciplinary cases in English football.

The Abu Dhabi-backed club, which has consistently denied wrongdoing, submitted its appeal on Oct 1, a day before the deadline.

City said the commission’s opinion contained “material errors of law, principle and fact” and insisted it was “innocent of the accusations.” The club added it had “irrefutable evidence” supporting its position but would respect due process until proceedings conclude.
