PLUS auxiliary police officer dies in Taiping highway crash

IPOH, Oct 11, 2026 — A 36-year-old PLUS auxiliary police patrol officer was killed after being hit by a Perodua Myvi at KM231.3 of the northbound North-South Expressway near Taiping on Friday morning. Taiping district police chief ACP S. Saravanan said the accident occurred at about 7am as the car was travelling from Shah Alam, Selangor, to Bayan Lepas, Penang.

The victim suffered serious injuries to the head, hands and legs and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 23-year-old driver escaped unhurt. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
