New – Azalina Says Hadi Went Too Far Likening CSA to Dajjal

Dajjal

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said on Wednesday (Nov 4) described PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang’s Dajjal remark on the confidence and supply agreement (CSA) as going too far, Berita Harian reported.

Azalina said the Marang MP could have chosen many other words to voice his disagreement without resorting to a term that could invite extreme interpretations.

Azalina on Hadi Dajjal remark

She said it was up to Abdul Hadi to explain why he used the term, adding that she could not comment on its religious aspects as she was not a religious expert.

“If I don’t like something, there are many other words I can use,” she said, urging that disagreement should not become extreme.

Azalina also noted that the definition of the Dajjal she had seen referred to a sign that appears before the Day of Judgment, and asked whether Abdul Hadi knew when that day would come.

She was speaking to reporters after delivering the keynote address at the Asia Insolvency Reform Forum 2026 at W Kuala Lumpur.

13 MPs signed CSA

Abdul Hadi had earlier been reported as describing the signing of the CSA as a “Dajjal approach” because he considered it a betrayal of trust. He also said countries worldwide accepted that all of a nation’s revenue belonged to the people, whether obtained directly or indirectly.

According to Berita Harian, the Madani government signed the CSA last week with six Bersatu MPs, Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman of Muda, and six independent MPs.

Under the agreement, all 13 MPs agreed to support the Madani administration until the end of the current parliamentary term, including in key votes on Budget 2027, the paper reported.

RM3 million allocation question

Asked whether the MPs who signed the CSA would receive an annual allocation of RM3 million, the same as government MPs, Azalina said she had been informed that this was the case.

However, she said she did not know further details as she had only been a witness, and that the discussions had been held among the parties involved.
