Bangladeshi Fined RM10,000 For Using Lost MyKad to Buy RON95

The Magistrate’s Court in Kuala Lumpur fined a Bangladeshi petrol station worker RM10,000 for possessing and using two MyKads to purchase Budi Madani RON95 subsidised petrol. Magistrate Aina Azahra Arifin imposed RM5,000 for each charge, with seven months’ jail in default, after Md Jakir Hossain, 50, pleaded guilty.

The offences occurred between February 8 and April 22, 2025, at a Jalan Pahang petrol station. CCTV footage and a search of his rented room uncovered two identity cards. Prosecutors said the misuse reduced victims’ subsidised fuel quota, with one complainant losing 50 litres. The accused paid the fine.
