BN candidate Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah triumphed over Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) Mohamad Haizan Jaafar in a closely watched straight fight. The win marks a major success for BN, as their vote count far exceeds projections for the 50 percent turnout from a total of 55 percent voter participation.
