PUTRAJAYA, May 6 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has recommended charges against two individuals linked to the RM1.1 billion chip patent agreement involving UK-based Arm Holdings. Outgoing MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the recommendation was submitted to the Attorney General’s Chambers, which will decide whether prosecutions proceed.

Azam declined to identify the individuals but said investigations covered alleged abuse of power, cheating and criminal breach of trust under Malaysian laws. The agency has recorded statements from 22 witnesses, including political analyst James Chai and former economy minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, as investigations continue into the controversial deal.
