The practice of monopolies in this country needs to be scrutinised to open up opportunities for industry players to compete and improve their service efficiency, while creating a more conducive market environment for the people.
Monopolies reducing will help the economy
According to Associate Professor Dr. Ahmed Razman Abdul Latiff, Director of the MBA Program at the Faculty of Business, Universiti Putra Malaysia, companies involved in high competition will strive to offer the best services at reasonable prices to gain customers. He added that in theory, if there are many offers, the price of goods or services will decrease.
This will force the companies involved to become more efficient in their efforts to win customers, thus benefiting users. However, the government needs to study the readiness of industrial players, including the management and financial capabilities of companies to offer services on par with monopolies.
