A social media post has sparked debate after a customer shared an unpleasant experience while attempting to purchase an iPad at an electronics store in MyTOWN. According to the original poster, several staff members allegedly did not approach them for around 10 minutes despite appearing ready to make a purchase.
The customer said one staff member eventually attended to them but provided limited explanation, leaving them to ask most of the questions themselves.
Customer Says RM5,000 iPad Purchase Deserved Better Service
The poster claimed they were prepared to buy the device but faced further confusion over the availability of a white keyboard and the pre-order process.
They said the total price, including accessories and Apple Pencil, was not clearly calculated by the salesperson. The customer also claimed their card was already ready for payment before they were told to consider pre-ordering and waiting several days. The store operates Apple retail and service locations across Malaysia.
According to the post, a staff member only attempted to convince them to proceed with the purchase after they had already left the store.
The customer said the experience had already affected their mood and argued that customers spending thousands of ringgit should receive attentive service regardless of the product. The post has since triggered mixed reactions about customer expectations and retail service standards.
