DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke said the party will propose at Friday’s Cabinet meeting the establishment of a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to investigate allegations of a “corporate mafia” within the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
DAP Pushing for RCI
While a special task force has already been formed to probe MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki’s shareholdings, Loke argued this is insufficient, as the broader claims implicate the institution itself.
He stressed that international coverage, including Bloomberg’s report, makes the issue more serious. Loke added that DAP believes Azam should be replaced, with future appointments vetted by Parliament to restore public confidence.
