DAP Senator Dr A Lingeshwaran slammed non-Malay allies of Perikatan Nasional (PN) for their silence after PAS MP Awang Hashim referenced the 1969 racial riots during a debate on the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13).

He criticised parties like Gerakan, Urimai, MAP, and MIPP for remaining quiet despite PN’s racially provocative rhetoric. Lingeshwaran condemned Awang’s remarks as reckless and harmful to Malaysia’s social harmony, calling it a betrayal of national unity.
He urged these parties to publicly clarify their stance and reconsider support for PN. He also defended RMK13’s inclusive agenda and warned against using racial fear as a political tool.
