PUTRAJAYA, Sept 2 — A former minister in his 60s was brought to the Putrajaya Court today for a remand application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), following revelations in the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report involving Felda.

The politician arrived at 10.25am in an MPV, escorted by MACC officers, wearing the commission’s lock-up attire and handcuffs. He was detained yesterday at 4.30pm while giving his statement at MACC headquarters in Putrajaya.

MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman confirmed the arrest, saying the case is being investigated under Section 16(a)(A) of the MACC Act 2009.

This latest arrest follows earlier remand orders against former Tabung Haji (TH) chairman, former TH CEO, and a former Treasury secretary-general. On August 14, seven individuals including a CEO, company directors, and former senior TH management were detained to assist investigations into the same matter.

The RCI report, released on July 29, outlined 25 key recommendations to strengthen transparency, professionalism, and governance within Felda and related institutions.

Investigations are ongoing as MACC continues to examine alleged irregularities linked to Felda’s management and financial practices.
