Freezer body case: Malaysian pastor now CHARGED with ending life of mother

KUALA LUMPUR: A 53-year-old pastor, N. Deanesh, has been charged with the murder of his mother, Catherine Daniel, 77, three years ago. The alleged crime occurred between March 21 and 26, 2021, at a house in Taman Overseas Union Garden. Reports suggest her body was stored in a freezer following the offence. Deanesh, appearing disheveled and in a wheelchair, confirmed understanding the charge but did not enter a plea as murder cases fall under High Court jurisdiction. Charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, he faces the death penalty or long-term imprisonment. The case is set for mention on Feb 7, 2025.
