SINGAPORE: A maid, Junny Lal Awn Pui, 26, was sentenced to nine months in jail for abusing a pet poodle, Boyboy, following her employer’s instructions. The Myanmar national was found guilty of three counts of animal cruelty under the Animals and Cruelty Act. CCTV footage revealed her hitting the elderly dog, suspending it from a balcony railing, and striking it with a rod. The abuse, instructed by the employer, Heng, 37, likely caused the dog’s death, according to an NParks veterinary report. Boyboy, aged 15, had been adopted in 2015 and was kept at Heng’s home with a motion-sensor camera. Is she a maid from hell?
