Moderate advocates and rights groups in Malaysia assert that Muslims generally understand the dos and don’ts when attending non-Muslim worship events. They support the Cabinet’s decision not to issue guidelines for Muslims attending such events.

G25 opposes any guidelines, calling them unnecessary and counterproductive to national unity. They emphasize Malaysians’ ability to exercise judgment and uphold constitutional rights. 

The Malaysian Islamic Youth Movement (Abim) and other groups support interfaith harmony, stressing inclusivity. Sisters in Islam criticize guidelines as patronizing. Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye reaffirms mutual respect and understanding as Malaysia’s foundation.
