Government Starts RM500 STR Phase 4 Payouts for 5.4 Million Eligible Malaysians

The government has begun distributing the fourth phase of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) 2026 assistance to 5.4 million recipients, with payments made in stages from November 4.

The Finance Ministry said existing beneficiaries would receive their payments between November 4 and 6, while newly approved applicants and successful appeal cases would be paid from November 16. The recipients comprise four million households earning RM5,000 and below, alongside 1.4 million single senior citizens.

Lower-Income Households to Receive Up to RM500 in Final STR Instalment

Eligible households will receive up to RM500, while single senior citizens will receive RM150. Of the household recipients, 2.8 million earning RM2,500 and below qualify for payments ranging from RM150 to RM500, while another 1.2 million households earning between RM2,501 and RM5,000 will receive up to RM250. Payments will be credited directly into bank accounts, with cash collection available at Bank Simpanan Nasional branches for those without accounts.

The ministry said the combined STR and Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) allocation for 2026 totals RM15 billion. It also reminded recipients to beware of fraudulent links and check updates through official channels.

STR Phase 4 payments have started for 5.4 million recipients, with eligible households receiving up to RM500.
