The Terengganu Election Court annulled and dismissed the petition challenging the results of the 15th General Election (GE15) for the Marang Parliament. Congratulations Mr Hadi Awang.
A win for Hadi
Following the decision, Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang remains a member of the Marang Parliament. It is a decision that serves the right in a democracy. The petition involving the constituency was filed in the Kuala Terengganu High Court in accordance with the Election Offenses Act 1954.
Still Marang MP
Terengganu Umno chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Said says the petition was filed based on the allegation that PAS bribed voters. Umno went to court based on the distribution of aid money given by the state government on 15 to 17 November 2022. A video also went viral showing an alleged PAS man giving cash to people. He also seemingly asked them to vote for PAS (not connected to this case).
