High Court judge Mohd Firuz Jaffril allowed an election petition by BN’s candidate Mohd Zubir Embong that was filed on Jan 3. The judge says there was an element of bribery in the distribution of financial aid from the state government – via the i-Belia and i-Student initiatives – prior to GE15.

Court Nullifies PAS Win

The incumbent lawmaker will appeal against the judgement but if he does not appeal within 14 days of the decision yesterday, the EC would be empowered to announce a by-election for the parliamentary seat.
