Indonesia Raises Volcano Alert to Highest Level. Villages to be evacuated

Indonesian authorities raised Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki’s alert level to its highest on Feb 13, warning of a potential eruption. Villages near the volcano on Flores Island were ordered to evacuate due to increased seismic activity. The volcano erupted in November, killing nine and disrupting flights. Geological agency head Muhammad Wafid cautioned about possible lahar floods. Officials remain on high alert as tremors intensify, urging residents to seek safety immediately.
