On 26th May, while most are still working in Malaysia, little did we realize that Instagram filters were having a downtime. However, in other countries they had noticed it and started tweeting about it. A majority of these cute filters were unable to work and people had to resort either using TikTok filters or post a la naturale (no filters).
Most that commented on this situation are from America saying that they’re not allowed to use the filters. One user commented saying that if they deleted and reinstalled the app it would be working again, but of course it is fake.
However, as of today it seems that their filters are working as per normal again. As of now, it has been quietly fixed and Instagram hasn’t released any apologies or explanation on the issue. It is pretty common to see Meta services having random breakdowns and without any apologies for the service disruptions.
