Jetstar Asia Shutting Down July 31, All Flights to End

Jetstar Asia, a Singapore-based budget airline under the Qantas Group, will cease operations on July 31, 2025, citing unsustainable rising costs and intensified regional competition. The closure affects over 500 employees and 16 intra-Asia routes, though Jetstar Airways and Jetstar Japan remain unaffected.

According to Mothership, affected staff will receive redundancy packages, bonuses, and job placement support. Customers with future bookings will be refunded or rebooked where possible. Qantas says the airline is projected to lose A$35 million this financial year, prompting the shutdown after two decades of service in Asia. Refund processing for vouchers will begin in August 2025.
