Currently, rapid rail transit is only available in the Klang Valley. The only other place with a transit line would be Penang, but it is still under construction. However, many feel that the time has come for Johor Bahru to have its own rapid transit infrastructure as the city is rather large.
Johor Bahru proposing to have new LRT line
Surprisingly, Johor Bahru has a population of around 1 million people, which shows that they do need a transit line. Netizens are urging the federal government and the state government to plan one. Users state that having a solid public transportation infrastructure will help reduce congestion in JB significantly.
In addition to this, some users are asking if Perak is suitable to have their own form of major public transportation system. However, we will have to wait and see if JB is getting theirs first as they are a more populated state.
