Rising Waters: Pahang’s Elevated Rivers Now Pose Substantial Risk

Six rivers in Pahang have surpassed alert levels, three breaching warning markers as of 8 a.m. The elevated rivers include Sungai Tanum at Chegar Perah Bridge, Lipis, hitting 97.32 meters, Sungai Kechau in Kampung Dusun, Lipis, reaching 81.98 meters, and Sungai Luit in Kampung Subuh, Maran, at 27.11 meters.

Additionally, three rivers exceeded alert levels: Sungai Serting at Padang Gudang Bridge, Bera, Sungai Jempol at FELDA Jengka, Maran, and Sungai Belat at Sri Damai. The Malaysian Meteorological Department reported no thunderstorm alerts. 

Fire Department Director Datuk Dr. Wan Mohammad Zaidi Wan Isa urged vigilance and relocation as needed, emphasizing child safety around flood-prone areas.
