Kiki is gone, friends ‘balik kampung’ for Raya but here its silence

One more time, former and jailed Prime Minister Najib Razak hit the internet with a sad tone. He showcases his loneliness in the cell, while friends – perhaps hinting at close political associates of the past – are going back to their villages for Raya. He also mentions that his favorite cat, Kiki, is gone. He is separated from family, still, he writes behind bars. His post only have ‘good’ comments from well-wishers. Not a single person has criticised Najib for his actions in his latest FB post.

Meanwhile, Najib has filed a motion seeking leave to appeal to the Federal Court to reinstate his RM1.9 million civil lawsuit against former attorney-general Tan Sri Tommy Thomas. The application, filed on Feb 10, follows a Court of Appeal decision that unanimously upheld a 2022 Kuala Lumpur High Court ruling dismissing the former prime minister’s suit.

Najib is seeking to appeal based on three legal questions regarding his claim of misfeasance in public office arising from his prosecution in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) case.
